(05D)

Don’t underestimate Frontenac Provincial Park. A crossing of the Park from west to east may
seem easy enough on the map. But when
you’re in there, scales are deceptive.
Even on a perfect sunny day with a strong breeze at our backs, the
thirteen hikers had to work hard to make it safely through.
Highlight was about half-way through the twenty
kilometre hike, at Flag Pole Hill, with the best vistas on the entire Rideau Trail. But when you have a bag of gems, who can say
which shines the brightest?
The final hills, east of Perth Road, seemed a final
test of our resolve to make Maple Leaf Road today, but we succeeded, and were already
looking forward to the next leg of our End-to-End journey from Kingston to Ottawa.
