It's not even 2 pm yet, and the shadows are already long. Here at the Powderface Trail sign, just west of the Winter Gate on the Elbow Valley road, the sun was just able to clear the tops of the hillsides, but would soon disappear behind Powderface Ridge as another short day comes to an end.
