Picture of the Week

Fri. 1 July:  Calgary from 105 km away

This extraordinary photo was taken from a mountain top lying over 105 km (66 miles) to the northwest of Calgary as the crow flies, or 205 km (128 miles) by road.  The downtown core on the left, and the Olympic ski jump on the right, can be seen across several ranges of foothills.

This remote mountaintop was Burnt Timber Lookout (7,610 ft.), which is SW of Sundre and accessed via the Panther River backroad.
